Policies/Application

  1. Every interested party must fill out an application, no exceptions! 
  2. Bernstein’s reserves the right to reject an application if we do not feel an applicant would be a good fit for one of our puppies.
  3. Bernstein’s reserves the right to assign puppies to future owners as we see fit. We do not allow for puppy choice or litter picks. We do our best to assess every puppy and match them with owners based on owner’s expressed interests in personality, activity, and other factors.
  4. Ask questions BEFORE applying. Feel free to email or call us if you have questions about our process before you fill out an application. 
  5. We will not place puppies into home with animals of the opposite sex without proof current animal has been spayed/neutered.
  6. Fee of $200 to be moved to the wait list is due within 2 weeks of phone interview or your application will be removed from our files and you will have to reapply in the future. Fee is non-refundable.
  7. After birth, a deposit of $500 is due within 48 hours once you’ve been informed that we have a puppy available for you.
  8. Bernstein’s will take back any puppy/dog of our breeding for any reason. No animal we place may be resold, gifted, exchanged, or surrendered to a shelter or rescue. We will pursue legal action if needs be should this occur.
  9. Bernstein’s does not sell breeding rights. Every puppy will come with a spay/neuter contract and limited registration. Full registration is only considered on co-ownership for approved homes for competition/performance homes.
  10. All final payments/balances due at pickup are in CA$H only! Do NOT ask us if we will take a check, money order, or credit card payment prior to pickup.
  11. All registered names are chosen by the breeders and will include the Bernstein’s kennel name.
  12. This will be a contracted sale. All parties will be legally responsible for adhering to terms as written. If you would like a copy of our contract, please email us with this request.
